DAY 1
Luxor to Esna: Valley of the Kings & Hatshepsut Temple
Begin your Luxor to Aswan Dahabiya cruise among the extraordinary monuments of Luxor’s West Bank. Explore the Valley of the Kings, visit the impressive Temple of Hatshepsut, and stop at the Colossi of Memnon before continuing to Esna to board Osiria. Settle into life aboard your Dahabiya as we begin sailing south along the Nile. Enjoy your first lunch on board, followed by a peaceful afternoon on the river and dinner beneath the Egyptian sky.
DAY 2
El Kab & Edfu: Temple of Horus
Sail to El Kab, one of Upper Egypt’s lesser-visited archaeological sites, where ancient tombs and ruins reveal another side of Egypt beyond the famous monuments. Continue to Edfu to explore the spectacular Temple of Horus, one of the best preserved ancient Egyptian temples. Return to Osiria and continue sailing south, leaving the busier stretches of the Nile behind before mooring along a quiet riverbank for the night.
DAY 3
Nile Village & Gebel el-Silsila
Experience the slower rhythm of the Nile with a visit to a traditional riverside village, offering a glimpse into everyday life in rural Upper Egypt. Back aboard, continue sailing through the landscapes that make a Dahabiya Nile cruise so different from travelling on a larger vessel. Later, explore Gebel el-Silsila, where sandstone cliffs narrow around the Nile and ancient Egyptians quarried stone for many of their greatest temples. Visit the rock-cut shrines and Speos of Horemheb before returning aboard for sunset.
DAY 4
Kom Ombo Temple, Daraw & the Nubian Nile
Arrive at Kom Ombo Temple, dramatically positioned beside the Nile and uniquely dedicated to two gods: Sobek and Horus the Elder. Continue towards Daraw for a walk through the town and its local market before returning to the river. Spend your final afternoon sailing through the increasingly Nubian landscapes approaching Aswan. Enjoy a relaxed final evening aboard Osiria, surrounded by islands, palms and the quiet waters of the Nile.
DAY 5
Aswan & Philae Temple, Daraw & the Nubian Nile
Wake to the beautiful scenery of Aswan and enjoy your final breakfast aboard Osiria before disembarking. Complete your Luxor to Aswan Dahabiya journey with a visit to the magnificent Philae Temple, dedicated to Isis and set on an island reached by boat. Your journey concludes in Aswan, with the option to continue your exploration of southern Egypt or travel onwards to Abu Simbel.
